Saints midfielder Victor Wanyama was sent off in Kenya’s 0-0 friendly draw against Burundi.

The Kenyan captain came on at half-time in Nairobi, but was quickly dismissed, following a rash challenge and a protest with the referee.

Saints’ under-21 side lost 4-2 away to Newcastle in their latest pre-season match.

Dan Demikiv and Harley Willard netted second-half strikes, after Martin Hunter’s men had fallen 3-0 behind.

Wanyama comes on.... Burundi midfielder trotting back to mark him says:
"Alright Vic me old **** (He's spent some time with his bro in the East end) not gone to Liverpool yet then?"
Vic " I'll tell you something, when we last played them, it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.... I even feel my head is already there..."
Burundi midfielder "head is up you're own @rse you mean" he said mockingly.
Vic - Knees midfielder in the nuts. Midfielder falls to ground, ref rushes over with cards in hand.
Ref to Vic "Oh Victor..... you've changed .... now get off ..... and get rid of that 'scouser till I die' tattoo, it looks ridiculous."

I haven't seen any reports that Wantawaya has clarified his earlier remarks in the Kenyan media, to the effect that he has "achieved" his goal of playing in the English Premier League, and now plans to be playing for a club in the Champions League next season.

Maybe we should sell him back to Celtic. Then he could be playing Champions League football again, against FC Reykyavik in the 2nd extra preliminary qualifying round.

We are not a selling club the new manager and the Board have said so we have take that as said.
However every player has his value so we another club offers well in excess of that value then there is a good chance they will be sold.
This happens to every club even Chelsea with Luiz @ £55m and Liverhampton with Suarez @ £75m, neither really worth that much.
Victor, like Morgan & Gaston (possibly even Dani) have not returned and spoken to RonKo yet so I would expect them to stay once they have.

Hope that Morgan is offered an improved contract and made Captain as he is our most important player and possibly the only one expected to start every game.

We are still a LB short of where we were before the departures so MUST bring 4 more top quality players in asap to improve us, otherwise a few other players will look to move on.

We CAN afford a top GK, CB, Winger & Striker as well as a LB and RonKo can attract them, so get on with it Les, TWO more in next 10 days please and the other 3 before the window closes. A season long loan deal for a striker (eg Lukaku ?) could be good until J-Rod is fit in January or later.

Why did we sign Wanyama anyway, he's not worth the money he cost. Celtic did good business there and his agent talked him up. Should have signed Scott Brown if we wanted to sign a Celtic player. Stay in Africa and get sold to Liverpool plz for 25million, so we can get a quality midfielder to go alongside Morgan.
