OLD Basing A continued their strong start to the Basingstoke and District Tennis League Mixed Division One campaign with a 5-3 victory over Goodworth Clatford.

Beverley Cleaver and Jamie Thomas recorded a maximum in that win, which followed a 6-2 victory over Mortimer.

The Goodworth team bounced back with a 5-3 win at Oakley A.

Division Two leaders Odiham A were held to a draw at Preston Candover A, while Totally Tennis B beat their own A team 5-3 and drew with Overton B as Eric McCann/Karen Olive won all their sets.

Beechdown B beat Overton B 6-2 thanks to a maximum from Phil Banfield/Aly Coughlan and Aldermaston B won 7-1 against Beechdown B with Carol Huddlestone/Nigel Bailey winning all their sets.

RSF B beat Sherborne 8-0 in Division Three, while Oakley C beat Kingsclere 5-3 and Oakley B drew with Mortimer B.

A strong Old Basing B team made it two wins out of two in Division Four with an 8-0 success at Odiham B.

Their C team secured 5-3 wins against Waverley and Hampshire Court to move up to second in the table.

Whitchurch beat Odiham C 6-2 with Huw Compton/ Pat Hunt getting a maximum, while Waverley got their first point of the season with a draw against Beechdown C thanks to Luke Watts/Nikki Fletcher.
