1988: May 10 - Born in St Albans.

2000: Joins Southampton's academy from Bournemouth's Centre of Excellence as a 12-year-old.

2005: Reaches the FA Youth Cup final with Southampton, but Ipswich win the trophy.

2006: August 23 - Makes his first-team debut for Southampton in a 5-2 League Cup victory over Yeovil.

October 31 - Signs new three-year contract with Saints.

2008: April 28 - Scores his first Southampton goal in a Championship meeting with West Brom.

August 29 - Signs another three-year contract.

2010: May 8 - Scores his 20th goal of the 2009-10 season in a final-day 3-1 victory over Southend.

2011: January 7 - Signs new contract with Southampton which runs to the summer of 2015.

May 7 - Southampton are promoted to the Championship as League One runners-up.

Lallana is named in the 2010-11 League One team of the year after scoring 11 goals.

2012: April 28 - Southampton secure their return to the Premier League with a 4-0 victory over Coventry.

Lallana's personal haul of 13 goals sees him named in the 2011-12 Championship team of the year.

September 10 - Called up to the senior England squad for the first time but does not feature against Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier.

October 20 - Scores his first Premier League goal in a 4-1 defeat at West Ham.

2013: April 6 - His goal in a 2-0 win over Reading is the 50th of his career.

April 11 - Signs a new five-year contract with Southampton.

November 15 - Wins his first England cap in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Chile at Wembley.

2014: April 18 - Included on a six-man shortlist for the PFA player of the year award but loses out to Liverpool's Luis Suarez.

April 27 - Named in the PFA team of the year alongside Southampton team-mate Luke Shaw, who has since moved to Manchester United.

May 12 - Selected as part of Roy Hodgson's 23-man England squad for the World Cup in Brazil.

May 30 - Liverpool make an improved offer of £25million after a bid of £20m is rejected by Southampton.

June 14 - Plays in his first World Cup game after replacing Daniel Sturridge 10 minutes from full-time in a 2-1 defeat to Italy.

He is subsequently used as a substitute in the 2-1 loss to Uruguay and is named in the starting line-up for the goalless draw with Costa Rica.

June 27 - After returning from Brazil, Lallana undergoes a medical with Liverpool ahead of a reported £25m transfer.

July 1 - Completes permanent transfer to Liverpool on "a long-term deal".
