NORTH Hampshire British Touring Car drivers Rob Collard and Nick Foster had mixed fortunes at Croft at the weekend.

Hook’s Collard enjoyed his best day of the season as he collected two podiums including a second place in his final outing of the day.

This followed on from a fourth in race two for the e-bay Motors driver, after he spent the entire race on the rear bumper of Jason Plato.

He then came in fourth in race two, but after third placed man Matt Neal was disqualified, Collard’s BMW was promoted to third.

He then completed an excellent day as he roared from seventh on the reverse gird in race three to finish second place.

Odiham’s Nick Foster had a disaster in race one as contact on the first lap saw him forced into the pits.

This meant he started race two from the back of the 30 car grid, but did really well as he fought his way up to 13th.

In his final race he collected another top 10 finish as he came in seventh.

Collard excellent day saw himself maintain his fifth spot in the Championship, nine points behind fourth place man Plato.

The Championship is led by Collard’s team mate Colin Turkington who won the first two races at Croft.

The BTCC now takes its summer break, with the next races at Snetterton on Sunday August 3.
