Saints are reportedly lining up moves for Danny Ings and Graziano Pelle as Ronald Koeman starts about a rebuilding job on the squad.
Both men are strikers, Winchester born Ings, below, struck 26 goals last season as Burnley were promoted to the Premier League – this after having started his career at Bournemouth.
He is out of contract in a year’s time, but Burnley have denied reports stating Saints have already made an approach for the player.
Pelle, who was talked about as a potential signings as soon as Koeman was appointed, has scored 50 goals in the last two seasons playing for the now Saints boss at Feyenoord.
Saints are sure to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as they look to make inroads in the transfer market, and with Koeman reporting for duty at Staplewood on Monday.
