HARTLEY Wintney are the first team to book a quarter-final place in the Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup, after a seven-wicket win over Whitchurch at May’s Bounty on Monday night.
Whitchurch scored 132-8 from their 20 overs as Martyn Dancer top scored with 39. Ari Karvelas (3-21) led the bowling, backed up by Jon Kerr (2-9) and Louis Lynch (2-18).
Jack Hersh led the Hartley reply with an unbeaten 65, well supported by Karvelas (33).
Tuesday night’s Eversley v Ropley game was postponed and this week there is only one game – East Woodhay v Basingstoke and North Hants on Monday night.
