BASINGSTOKE golfer Stuart Archibald finished in a tie for 25th in his latest EuroPro Tour event, the FSC Invitational at The Astbury.
The 29-year-old travelled to Astbury Hall, in Shropshire, for the tournament and three solid rounds saw him finish on one-under-par, six shots behind the winner.
Archibald got off to a great start and was at -4 after 11 holes. Bogeys at 12 and 15 set him back, but a birdie at the penultimate hole saw him card a three-under-par opening round of 67.
He also made a good start on day two and was two-under-par at the turn, but two bogeys on the back nine meant he had to settle for a level-par round of 70, leaving him with too much ground to make up on the final day.
However, he finished the event on a high, making an eagle three at the par-five 17th to card a closing round of 69 (-1) and finish 25th.
Archibald is currently in action at the HotelPlanner.com Championship, which got under way at Cumberwell Park, in Wiltshire, yesterday.
Then, on Monday, he travels to The Buckinghamshire looking to make it through the first round of qualifying for this year’s Open Championship.
