Hook and Newnham Basics remain top of North Hampshire Midweek Cricket League Division One after making it five wins out of five with a 77-run victory over Basingstoke Hockey Club.

Matt Buckingham top-scored with an unbeaten 65 as Hook finished their innings on 202-2, while the hockey players ended up on 135-4.

Basingstoke and North Hants lie second after beating Herriard by 22 runs. Basingstoke were bowled out for 114 but managed to dismiss the hosts for 92 in reply.

Stratfield Turgis made it three out of three in Division Two with a 36-run win at Royal Naval Sports, restricting the hosts to 122-7 having made 158-6.

Development Group sit second after beating AWE Tadley by 12 runs. Development Group made 109-6, while Tadley could only reach 97-8 (Andy Stead 42).

Chineham Barbarians won the battle of the rugby clubs, beating Aldermaston by six runs. Marc Mininkin hit an unbeaten 41 as Chineham reached 103-4 before restricting their visitors to 97-8.

Sherfield-on-Loddon beat Rotherwick by 31 runs. Steve Dummer made an unbeaten 40 as Sherfield reached 141-5, while Phil Mitchell took 2-10 as Rotherwick were restricted to 110-5.
