THE annual Festival of Sport between Basingstoke and one of its twin towns, Euskirchen, takes place from June 25-29.

More than 200 sportsmen and women from 10 to 75 years of age are taking part. They will travel to Germany with the borough mayor and a council delegation.

The team includes members of the Summit and AWE Judo Clubs, North Hampshire Road Club, Basingstoke Academy of Dance, Totally Tennis, Basing-stoke and Mid Hants Athletic Club, Basingstoke Volleyball Club and Basingstoke Teamgym.

There are three football teams – Sherborne St John under-12s and under-14s as well as Calleva under-12 boys – making the trip, while also going to Germany as part of the party are pupils of Queen Mary’s College, Bishop Challoner Secondary School and St Mary’s Junior School.
