Bad start to mixed tennis league for Overton A
IN THE Basingstoke and District Tennis Summer League Mixed Division One, defending champions Andover A opened with an 8-0 win at Overton A and Old Basing A beat Beechdown A 5-3.
In Division Two, Aldermaston A beat their B team 6-2 with Karen McKenzie/Dave Bull winning all their sets.
Mortimer B started their Division Three campaign with a win and a loss. They beat Preston Candover B 6-2, with a maximum for Andrew Richardson/Michelle Goulding, but then went down 7-1 to Sherborne, with Lesley Miotto/Paul Saunders winning all their sets.
Division Four saw wins for Hampshire Court, who beat Beechdown C 8-0 and Old Basing B, who won 7-1 against their C team, while Odiham B also beat their own C team, winning 5-3.
