GOODWORTH Clatford’s A team head Ladies Division One of the Basingstoke and District Summer Tennis League after two wins, 8-0 over their B team and 6-2 against defending champions Beechdown, and a draw with Oakley.
The Beechdown A team beat Oakley A 5-3 and Goodworth Clatford B 8-0 thanks to their team of Clare Munns/Andrea Butcher and Ali Coughlan/Jane Freer.
Old Basing A won 6-2 at Overton and Oakley A beat Goodworth Clatford B 7-1 thanks to a maximum from Julie Green-slade/Charlotte Toosey.
The Andover A team of Claire Coomer/Claire Reid and Andrea McMillan/Faye Fradeley beat Overton 8-0 in their opening match.
Aldermaston B started their Division Two campaign with 7-1 wins against RSF and Preston Candover.
Keren Bailey/Margaret Flemington were unbeaten in both matches.
Totally Tennis A have had two draws to start their season, against Preston Candover and RSF.
Odiham beat Sherborne 5-3, with Helen Osgerby/Pam Verdon being unbeaten and then Winchester beat Sherborne, also 5-3.
Mortimer B and Andover B have yet to drop a set in Division Three after their first two matches.
Mortimer’s team of Michelle Goulding/Gillian Butler and Belinda Chalin/Jane Stratford recorded 8-0 results against Whitchurch and Beechdown B.
Andover B beat Old Basing B and Totally Tennis B, who went on to draw with Beechdown B.
Hampshire Court A have had a mixed start to the season.
They lost 8-0 to their B team of Tina Wood/Emma Giddings and Christine Doig/Bianca Walker, but won 8-0 at Beechdown B thanks to their team of Jayne Crowley/Kate Scorse and Lesley Flynn/Alex Nicholls.
