HOOK and Newnham Basics evergreen left-arm spin bowler Kevin Poulter produced remarkable figures of five wickets for only one run.
However, he still ended up on the losing side, as Hook lost by two wickets to visiting Bournemouth in their Southern League Division One clash.
The visitors were set a target of 87 to win off 33 overs in rain reduced game.
They looked to be cruising to victory at 70-2 and 82-4, but they then slumped to 84-8 as Poulter turned in his five start performance from five overs.
Earlier, in the game Hook were bowled out 86 as Nick Willcock (16), Keiran Thomson (14) and Jordan Hobday (12) were the only players to make it into double figures.
New Zealander Bradley Schmulian (4-18) led the Bournemouth bowling attack.
Next up for Hook is a trip to May’s Bounty to face Basingstoke and North Hants.
