WHITCHURCH and RNA Sports were the latest teams to reach the second round of the Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup.
Whitchurch booked their place with a five-wickets victory over Overton on Monday.
The winners scored 104-5, Jim Hayward their top scorer with an unbeaten 26.
Earlier, Overton scored 103-9 as Lewis Watts scored 31 and Whitchurch’s Nigel Marriott returned 4-14.
The following night, RNA Sports won a thriller as they beat Herriard by three runs.
Shaun Bradley (57) helped RNA to 112-2, and, despite Paul Burrows’ unbeaten 65, Herriard only reached 109-4.
There is only one game in competition at May’s Bounty this week, with Ramsdell taking on Hook and Newnham B tomorrow evening.
