THE Queen Mary's College Boys A Team of Loic Armstrong, Ali Olrog, Nick Dingwall and Patrick Lincoln-Ohstrand are in the regional finals of the Glanvill Cup after winning their semi-final match against Portsmouth Grammar School.

The team of Totally Tennis performance players travelled to Portsmouth and came out fighting in the singles matches, crushing the opposition to win all the singles and the fixture before the doubles even began.

With the match already won, the doubles matches were abandoned due to availability of court time at the Portsmouth centre.

The boys will now play for a place in the national final in Sheffield and travel to local rivals Peter Symonds College from Winchester on Wednesday.

Sarah Goldson, QMC PE teacher and tennis team manager, said: “This was a great win for the boys and it was especially pleasing to see Patrick fighting hard for his win in the fourth singles, which wrapped up the victory.”

She added: “Peter Symonds have one of their strongest teams, but the boys are looking forward to the match and will, as always, I am sure, give their very best.”
