The finalists in this event would join the British squad for selection to fight in the World Championships in Slovenia later this year.

Phillipa Peploe fought in her first British championship and lost narrowly to the eventual winner.

George Peploe returned after five months out with a detached tendon in his hand and fought well.

However, he lost in the semi-finals at the end of a close bout with the current world champion.

Stephen Gribben claimed third place after losing in the semi-finals to a former world champion.

Steve O’Grady gained two silver medals in the men’s veteran sections, losing in the final to Ron Peploe, who retained his British title.
