TEST Valley Golf Club professional Claire Duffy secured her place at the Women's PGA Championship in Scotland later this year by finishing in a tie for ninth at the second One-Day Series event of the season.

Duffy carded a four-over-par score of 78 at Little Aston Golf Course to sneak into the top 10, eight shots behind winner Joanne Hodge.

The Test Valley pro was two-under-par through 10 holes but dropped away on the back nine, carding four bogeys and a double bogey to fall out of contention for the title.

However, she remains second on the order of merit after her victory in the first event, while her performance was enough to secure her a place at the WPGA Championship, which will take place at Blairgowrie, in Scotland, in August.

Duffy is in One-Day Series action again tomorrow, competing at Chestfield GC, in Kent.
