ROPLEY booked their place in the second round of the Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup after an eight-wicket victory over Rotherfield Park.
Having restricted Park to 105-8 as Chris Fuller top scored with 42, Australian Howard Biddle (38 not out) and Tom Wood (32 not out) helped Ropley to 106-2.
Basingstoke Hockey Club were given a walk-over against Chineham RFC after their opponents were unable to raise a team for Tuesday night’s game.
The only match in the competition at May’s Bounty next week will see Dummer face St Mary’s on Tuesday evening.
