BASINGSTOKE-BORN bowlers Chris Wood and Matt King opened the attack for Hampshire Academy in their six-wicket defeat at home to Southern League Premier Division defending champions South Wilts.
Both bowlers failed to take a wicket, but Ryan Murray from Sherborne St John did, but they could not stop South Wilts reaching a match-winning score of 225-4.
Earlier in the day, the home side made 224-9, with King unbeaten on 15 at the end, having hit two fours in his 12-ball knock.
Wood, playing his second match after knee surgery, perished for one after an over-ambitious reverse sweep.
Murray (6), who was looking to increase the total in the final overs, hit the only maximum of the innings before he was caught.
