BRIAN Tedder, Bob Collins, Kevin Pitcher and Derek Graves coped best with windy conditions to win the Captain’s Day event at Hartley Wintney Golf Club.
The foursome scored 62.8 to beat second-placed David Judge, Paul Shannon, David Carrod and Ron Watt by a point, with Stuart Tester, Steve Doyle, Tong Wardle and Ray Pygott a further 0.1 back in third.
Pitcher went it alone to go on and make it a winning double by emerging victorious in the Captain’s Trophy. His score of 39 points saw him beat Scott Bailey on countback thanks to a strong back-nine performance.
Mike Cowell was a point back in third, beating Phil Reid into fourth place on countback.
The team of Cheryl Scott, Julia Johnson and Pat Stow won the Ladies’ Pro Day event with a score of 74 points. Christine Curtis, Wendy Pattison and Hazel Williams finished second with 67 points, while Anne Smyth won the nearest the pin prize.
Mike Flint and Linda Turner teamed up to win a mixed drawn fourball event at the club, amassing 40 points. Cheryl Scott and Ray Cullen were a shot back in second, with Keith Rockhill and Chris Warman claiming third place on countback after scoring 38 points.
