LAMB Inn lifted the Bernard Cornish Cup, producing a strong second-half display to beat Chineham in the final at Winklebury.

The game was scoreless at the change of ends, but Lamb Inn took the lead early in the second half before going on to claim a 3-0 victory.

After a quiet start, Ross Cook of Lamb Inn had the first chance, hitting the post from Peter Lomax's through-ball. The same player then went close on three further occasions, but he was unable to open the scoring.

Kieran Alleyne went close for Chineham and there were more chances before the break, but neither side was able to make the breakthrough. Chineham goalkeeper Darryl Norman made an important save just before half-time, denying Carlos Gonzalez.

Chineham's Alleyne failed to make the most of a great chance early in the second half and it was Lamb Inn who finally made the breakthrough on 50 minutes, Dan Dedman converting Cook's cross.

The lead was doubled five minutes later as Ashley Elward robbed Chineham's Terry Collingridge before firing past Norman, while Louis Vickery made it 3-0 on 70 minutes, taking advantage of a defensive mix-up.

Dedman failed to make the most of a chance to extend the lead further and the game ended on a slightly sour note as Cook and Alleyne were shown red cards following an incident that led to a mass confrontation.
