BEN Nicholls scored a hat-trick as Welly Old Boys won the Knightsbridge Garage All Champions Cup, beating Sporting Silchester 5-2.
However, a shock looked on the cards when Silchester took the lead after 12 minutes from Barry Smith.
Welly hit back as ace marksman Nicholls equalised and then gave his side the lead by half-time from the penalty spot.
Just six minutes after the re-start, the game was level again at 2-2, as Cian Condon scored from Kevin Hill’s corner.
Welly hit back again through Nicholls as he claimed the match ball with a hat-trick strike from a free-kick after 57 minutes.
The Saturday side then made sure of victory as Ryan Evans scored after a great solo run just after the hour mark.
He then scored his second 10 minutes from time, following captain James McIntosh’s corner.
Before the presentation of the trophies, a cheque for £250 was presented to Carla Hutt of Sebastian's Action Trust by Basingstoke and District Football League chairman Barrie Hiscock. The money was raised from the match.
