BADMINTON players from the Basingstoke and District Badminton League won through to the final of the Hampshire District Knock-Out Competition in Winchester.
The Basingstoke team of Fiona Garnett, Lisa Moran, Anu Davies, Lee Frith, Gareth Jones and Andy King were drawn against Winchester in the semi-final.
After the mixed games, Winchester led 81-68 but excellent performances from the men and ladies saw the Basingstoke squad storm back to win 350-318.
In the other semi-final, Southampton came out on top against Aldershot and Camberley 347-322.
The contest for the trophy started with Southampton taking a five-point lead after the mixed rubbers.
In a tight contest throughout, the lead kept changing hands but Basingstoke opened up a three point advantage at one stage.
Unfortunately for them, Southampton came out on top in the end, winning overall 333-323.
In the Plate competition, Winchester beat Aldershot and Camberley 337-322.
