BASINGSTOKE footballer Adam Nditi helped Chelsea to the Barclays Under-21 Premier League crown with a 2-1 win over Manchester United last night.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Tanzania but moved to Basingstoke at the age of 13, played the full 90 minutes of last night's play-off final at left-back.
Nditi made 12 appearances for the under-21s over the course of a season that saw them top the Premier League table.
He also played in their play-off semi final victory over Manchester City, which the Blues won on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
That set up a final with Manchester United at Old Trafford last night, and Nditi was once again selected to start the game at left-back.
Tom Lawrence put United ahead after just 12 minutes, but Charly Musonda levelled the game soon after and there was nothing between the sides at half-time.
Chelsea were the better side in the second half and threatened the United goal on a number of occasions.
Nditi saw his shot deflected just wide of the post, but his side grabbed a winner with 11 minutes to go, Lewis Baker firing home from the edge of the area.
