BOOKIES have taken four-figure bets on Mauricio Pochettino quitting Saints to become the next Tottenham boss.
Boylesports reported big support for Pochettino this morning to replace the sacked Tim Sherwood at White Haet Lane.
Initially installed at 7/1, the Argentinian had been supported into 11/8.
This morning, Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker saw further support for Pochettino and has had to cut him into 8/11 following demand.
Pochettino’s nearest rival in the betting is Ajax coach Frank De Boer at 5/2 with Rafa Benitez priced at 6/1.
David Moyes can be backed at 10/1 with both Michael Laudrup and Roberto Mancini priced at 20/1.
Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “All the cash has come in for Pochettino this mornihng. Having laid some four figure bets at 11/10 and evens, our traders have had to cut him into odds on at 8/11.”
Glynn added “Other candidates to see some support are Gus Poyet, who is now priced at 28/1 having been installed at 50/1, whilst Rafael Benitez is now 6/1 having been introduced at 40/1.
“Judging by the interest this morning, it is looking likely that Mauricio Pochettino may be heading to White Hart Lane.”
