Bookies believe Rafa Benitez is candidate for Tottenham job alongside Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino

Basingstoke Gazette: Mauricio Pochettino Mauricio Pochettino

BOOKIES believe ex-Liverpool and Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is a candidate for the Spurs job alongside Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Frank De Boer is also in the running and the current Ajax manager is priced as the 6/4 second favourite behind Pochettino at 11/8.

Benitez is on offer at 6/1 with bookies Boylesports.

Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at Boylesports, commented “With news of Tim Sherwood’s departure from Tottenham, it is Mauricio Pochettino who seems to be in Daniel Levy’s sights and he is the red hot favourite at 11/8 to take over as manager.”

"On behalf of the Club, I should like to state our thanks for all his efforts during his years with us. We wish him great success in his managerial career."

Daniel Levy's catchphrase, is it 10 times in the last 12 years? Not sure but it wont be long before it is used again.

Well said costa gaz, would Mauricio want to go and work for this backstabbing insincere disrespectful creep? I commented yesterday that Levy was probably talking to an insider call him a mate if you like about wanting MP and our Players when Tim Sherwood was at the other end of the Bar,Levy seems to have money to burn rather than to control the finances he is repulsive.

In my comment yesterday I assume MP had done his search and homework on Levy who has once again proved he doesn't know his a?s from his elbow and now Benitez has been added to the list I do hope so because this might mean that Levy already knows MP answer and is not interested in Managing Spurs, I think Sherwood knew he wouldn't get the job even though he has the best results from a season than any other Manager because Levy is never happy unless he's hiring and firing.

We all hope that we get the music to our ears very soon that MP is happy to stay and none of the Players are leaving, I admit I would of love to of heard MP say since all the horrible rumours started he is very happy at the Club and doesn't want to leave because he loves the Club and Hampshire and wants to see a win against Man U and is looking forward to doing even better next season and the next big challenge, if that happens all the Supporters will be kissing his feet and he'll never have to buy another Beer for himself.

Is this Benitez rumour a red herring to distract from the constant wind up of MP going to Spurs, the suspense is torture.
