Could not be happier to see us win at Fratton Park

It ends what in truth was a poor season on a very good note dare I say it I fancy us defending it again next season

A post-match interview with Jason Bristow can be found by clicking here. Apologies for the poor picture quality. They turned the lights off on us.

A deserved win in the end, but didn't they put us through the wringer?!

Reaction to follow.

Basingstoke Town 3-2 Havant and Waterlooville

120 - Green gives a free-kick away on the edge of the area, but Nanetti's ball in is too deep.

118 - Basingstoke Town 3-2 Havant and Waterlooville - Liam Enver-Marum

Great play from LIAM ENVER-MARUM, who cuts in from the right before powering a low shot in at the near post. Can they survive this time?

117 - Close for Town as Jenkinson's free-kick is tipped over by Searle.

116 - Alek Przespolewski - Havant and Waterlooville

Daly wins his side a dangerous free-kick just outside the area and Przespolewski goes into the book

113 - Better from Town as Soares has a shot blocked and Jenkinson puts in a dangerous cross that is just cut out before it reaches Ibe.

112 - Przespolewski lets fly from distance, but that's miles over the crossbar. All Havant at the moment though.

110 - Havant should be ahead. Ciardini's low cross finds Nanetti, who has time to take a touch before shooting from 10 yards, but he curls it wide of the far post.

107 - Another chance, this time for Harris as Town fail to deal with a corner, but his acrobatic effort floats wide.

106 - Big chance for Havant. Przespolewski was played through but his finish lacked conviction and McDonnell saved with his feet.

Town get the final period of extra-time under way. Can either team find a goal to settle this before a shoot-out?

Basingstoke Town 2-2 Havant and Waterlooville

Only 15 minutes left, or we will have penalties. Town were the better side in that period, but didn't really threaten.

103 - Almost a calamity as Rice's square ball across the penalty area is nearly intercepted by Harris.

Both sides have been a bit cautious so far in extra-time. Getting their breath back after that dramatic end to the 90 minutes.

97 - Great run from Nanetti, but Gasson is able to shepherd him wide and the ball runs out for a goal-kick.

96 - Ibe cuts in from the right, but his low shot is into the side netting.

It's the Havant fans who are more vociferous now. The atmosphere has totally changed.

Havant get extra-time under way. Town look out on their feet. Need a massive effort to go again now.

Basingstoke Town 2-2 Havant and Waterlooville

Extra-time, here we come. Can Town recover?

90+6 - Basingstoke Town 2-2 Havant and Waterlooville - Ed Harris

That's a heartbreaker. Havant win a last-gasp corner and send goalkeeper Searle forward.

Gasson clears the initial ball in but ED HARRIS gets on the end of a scrappy cross, with Green only able to help the ball into the roof of the net standing on the line.

90+4 - Fantastic save from McDonnell, who dives low and full-length to his right to keep out Ryan Woodford's effort. He denies Newton on the follow-up as well.

The board had gone up. Town will have to survive six minutes of added time. Squeaky bum time.

90 - Perry Ryan's shot is blocked by his own team-mate.

89 - A half-chance for Enver-Marum from a corner, but he can only find the side netting from a narrow angle.

85 - Basingstoke Town - Kezie Ibe on for Manny Williams

Town made a change before the penalty was taken, a limping Williams being replaced.

86 - Basingstoke Town 2-1 Havant and Waterlooville - Nanetti (pen)

It's never straightforward with Town. CHRISTIAN NANETTI sends McDonnell the wrong way from the spot to set up a nervous finale.

Nanetti was going nowhere on the right side of the area but Gasson brought him down to concede a spot-kick.

82 - Town go looking for a third. Enver-Marum lays the ball back for Soares, but his effort is blocked, while Jenkinson cannot really test Searle from the edge of the area.

The Town fans are in top form. Currently singing Yellow Submarine. We've already had the Animal Hospital theme. Still don't know why they sing that.

80 - Soares lets fly from distance. It's almost straight at Searle, but he can only parry it up in the air. Havant clear though.

78 - Nanetti lets fly from the edge of the area. McDonnell dives for the cameras as it goes wide.

76 - Searle drops Green's cross but recovers to smother Williams' effort.

75 - Havant and Waterlooville - Jake Newton on for Scott Jones

Newton goes to right-back, with centre-back Ed Harris going forward to join Nanetti in attack.

72 - Wes Daly - Basingstoke Town

Daly is booked after catching Jones late and is booked. Ciardini stings McDonnell's palms with the free-kick, but the goalkeeper gathers at the second attempt.

70 - Basingstoke Town 2-0 Havant and Waterlooville - Liam Enver-Marum

Town break and Williams turns provider, a little ball playing LIAM ENVER-MARUM through. He tucks the ball under Searle to give Town some breathing space.

70 - Nic Ciardini lets fly from the edge of the Town area, but can only find the side netting. Well struck.

67 - A quick free-kick catches Havant napping, but Enver-Marum is unable to get a shot away.

66 - Przespolewski's touch back sets up a chance for Jones, but the Havant striker curls his shot well wide of the far post from the right side of the area.

65 - Enver-Marum's cross is just too high for Bignall.

63 - Basingstoke Town - Adam Green on for Simon Dunn

Dunn is unable to carry on, so Green comes on and goes to left-back, with Jenkinson moving into midfield.

62 - Nanetti has swapped wings and cuts in from the right, but fires wide of the near post.

61 - Dunn is back on, but he is far from comfortable. Town have no midfielders on the bench, so it could be a real problem if he can't continue.

59 - Dunn is down with what looks like an ankle problem.

Credit to the Town fans. They haven't stopped singing since the first whistle. Definitely winning the battle in the stand.

55 - Another massive chance for Town. Bignall played Dunn in down the left but his pass was agonisingly too far ahead of an unmarked Enver-Marum. He slid, but couldn't get there.

54 - Another clear chance, this time for Williams. Bristow was annoyed when Soares turned down a chance to shoot in the build-up, but Town worked the ball to Williams and a good turn in the box gave him space for a shot, but he fired well wide.

52 - Havant go straight down the end and threaten through Nanetti, but McDonnall claims his low centre.

51 - Another chance for Bignall. Smart finds him with a low ball from the right, but his touch lets him down on the six-yard line, the ball rolling into the arms of the goalkeeper.

50 - Havant are keeping the ball well but struggling to break Town down. Could be a long second half though.

46 - Town force an early corner. But it's easily cleared. Town had left three on three at the back there and almost paid, but Robbie Rice managed to get a foot in as Havant looked to break.

Town get the second half under way.

45 - Havant and Waterlooville - Alek Przespolewski on for Pedro Monteiro

The Havant players are back out. Wouldn't be surprised if they got a half-time rocket from manager Lee Bradbury. Can't see them being that poor again in the second half.

No worries mate. Start biting those fingernails.

Town have been very much the better side in the opening 45 minutes and deserve to be ahead.

They really should be two up as well. Will Bignall's miss come back to haunt them?

Basingstoke Town 1-0 Havant and Waterlooville

We will have at least two added minutes at the end of the half.

44 - Pedro Monteiro gifts the ball to Williams deep in the Havant half. He sets up Dunn and with no pressure he gets a shot off. Not enough on it to beat Searle though. A comfortable save.

43 - Town looked in trouble as Nanetti ran at the back line there, but he lost his footing at the key moment.

42 - He's okay to carry on though.

41 - Havant's Perry Ryan is down after falling awkwardly challenging with Daly.

39 - Scott Jones - Havant and Waterlooville

Jones' lunging challenge gets nowhere near the ball and catches Dunn. He is booked.

37 - Enver-Marum is pulled back as he attempts to get on the end of Williams pass. An interesting free-kick, but it's worked to Daly and his shot is a poor one. Long way out mind.

36 - Not a bad effort from Simon Dunn. He fired in a shot from 25 yards and while Searle was never worried, it wasn't miles away.

35 - Cummings' cross is a dangerous one, but Town just about smuggle the ball away.

32 - Havant and Waterlooville - Warren Cummings on for Daniel Blachett

And he has to go off. A real shame for him. Ex-Bournemouth Man Warren Cummings replaces him.

32 - Havant's Blanchett is down. Looks like a hamstring problem.

30 - More good play from Town. Enver-Marum's low ball across the box just evaded everyone though, while Jenkinson then fired miles over from distance.

28 - Nathan Smart - Basingstoke Town

Smart catches a Havant player late and is booked. Not good news as he is up against Havant danger-man Nanetti.

26 - And that should be 2-0. Town counter from a free-kick and Bignall is played in by Williams. He beats the offside trap and is one-on-one, but his side footed shot is miles wide. Poor.

23 - Soares' low cross is just about dealt with by Havant goalkeeper Ed Harris.

21 - Almost another chance for Williams, but he cannot get on the end of a cross from the left.

18 - Basingstoke Town 1-0 Havant and Waterlooville - Manny Williams

And the Town fans get even louder!

Good play down the left by Soares and Enver-Marum. The striker beats goalkeeper Searle but Daniel Blanchett gets back to block. He can't get the ball away though, and that's a simple finish for MANNY WILLIAMS.

15 - Enver-Marum works space for a shot on the edge of the area, but it lacks power and is well wide.

14 - Good passing from Town creates a crossing opportunity for Smart, but his low ball in is too close to Charlie Searle in the Havant goal.

14 - Another good run down the left from Nanetti, but McDonnell catches the cross.

12 - Williams wins a free-kick in a dangerous area down the left, but the ball in from Soares is a poor one.

9 - Havant have a decent spell of possession and Christian Nanetti's cross has to be headed behind by Andrew Jenkinson. The corner is cleared.

4 - It's been a frantic start and Havant nearly catch Town cold. Scott Jones beats McDonnell to the ball midway inside the Town half and clips the ball towards goal.

Luckily, it rolls wide. Not sure Jay Gasson would have got there otherwise.

3 - Good play from Manny Williams and Bignall creates a chance for Nathan Smart, but he can only shoot straight at Charlie Searle in the Havant goal.

2 - Enver-Marum is in down the left, but his low centre is cut out and Havant scramble the corner away.

Shame that its been a poor season but hopefully we can end the season on a good note and pick up some silverware

1 - But goalkeeper Joe McDonnell is able to claim the ball in.

1 - Havant force Daly to concede an early corner.

Havant get the game under way. They will shoot towards the setting sun in the first half, so Wes Daly must have won the toss.

First blood to the Town fans. They were far louder as the teams were read out.

The fans of both sides are in the same stand as me. It's making for a decent atmosphere under the roof.

Here come the teams. Town are in their red away kit and Havant are in white.

A quick word for Hampshire football legend Peter Raynbird. He was due to be here tonight but is instead in hospital after falling after yesterday's All Champions Cup final at Winklebury.

Get well soon Mr Raynbird.

Havant go into this game as favourites. They have won three of the four previous meetings between the sides this season, while Town failed to win any of them, scoring just once in 360 minutes of play.

Havant ended the season sixth in the Conference South, missing out on a play-off place to a last-gasp goal. Dover went through, and they were promoted after beating Ebbsfleet in the final on Sunday.

Town ended the season 14th after a poor second half of the campaign. Can they salvage something from a disappointing season tonight?

Town boss Jason Bristow gets a big round of applause from the fans as he leads his team inside to make their final preparations.

Basingstoke Town: McDonnell, Smart, Jenkinson, Dunn, Gasson, Rice, Daly, Soares, Enver-Marum, Bignall, Williams. Subs: Adams, Matthews, Green, Ibe, Maylen.

Havant and Waterlooville: Searle, Stugnell, Blanchett, Monteiro, Woodford, Harris, Ciardini, Atangana, Jones, Nanetti, Ryan. Subs: Cummings, Bevan, Przespolewski, Newton, Wedlake.

The Town fans have emerged. I suspect they may have been having a drink below the stand. They've brought a drum and are really getting behind the team as they warm up.

From what I can remember, there's just one change to the Town side that beat Staines on the final day of the league season. Shaun McAuley misses out, with his place taken by Louie Soares.

McAuley isn't involved at all. Not sure why. Neil Barrett also misses out. A shame for him, as he began his career here, but it shows how far his star has fallen this season.

The good news from a Town point of view is that Liam Enver-Marum and Nicholas Bignall start in attack.

I can't see them from up here, but I can hear the Town fans. They are in good voice.
