Mauricio Pochettino is hoping Saints finish with a flourish as they round off their season against Manchester United at St Mary's on Sunday.

A point against the Red Devils would bag Saints their highest top flight points total in 29 years in a season which will see them finish eighth.

Pochettino said: "Our focus is that we always want to win and get the three points and we want to have a very good performance on Sunday. There is no exception on Sunday.

"There is also the chance to see the supports, to thank them for their amazing support throughout the season and for the supporters to thank and congratulate the players. They have been the main actors in making this amazing season possible."

When asked whether it would be a goodbye for him and some star players he replied: "We always said goodbye because we finish a chapter and we start a new chapter."

Pochettino confirmed the club have no further injury worries ahead of the game.

I'd love the win, naturally, but to be honest, with nothing much to play for than another record, I'd like to see a bit more of the youngsters. For that, I'd sacrifice three otherwise meaningless points. It could easily be a day of celebration for all the values that Saints stand for - young, homegrown, English talent being a given chance at the highest level.

or play a full team to beat Man Utd so everyone knows how good we are so our players wont want to leave to join a team who we took 4 points from

I think it should be a game of two halves.

First half, (with Nat, Luke, Jack Stephens, Jack, JWP, Adam and Rickie) play a more or less full-strength 11 (containing a mere 7 English outfield players - I don't think there's much we can do about the goalkeeping spot, Kelv's injured), get 5-0 up, then rest the 3 foreigners (Steve D., Morgan and Victor) and replace them with Omar Rowe, Harrison Reed and Sam ...... and win 10-0.

Of course, that would simply throw speculation around about the futures of Callum, Dejan and Jose, but it would, at least, give stories about Adam, Jay, Morgan and MP a rest.

Look at the OS training gallery, he seems to be in fine form, I am not sure he has been "injured", judging by what he said at the Awards, it may have been family leave.

im not trying to have an argument, just my opinion. I just think it would be good to put a full team out and to beat them on the last day of the season as they did when they got us relegated and then use the youngsters pre season, like i said my opinion you dont have to agree.

For that, I'd sacrifice three otherwise meaningless points. It could easily be a day of celebration for all the values that Saints stand for - young, homegrown, English talent being a given chance at the highest level.[/p]
or play a full team to beat Man Utd so everyone knows how good we are so our players wont want to leave to join a team who we took 4 points from[/p]
Yeah, because the result of a single game is going to make a big difference to how they see the team ...[/p]
it may do do you know it wont?[/p]
What kind of argument is that? Right off the playground. I'll just come back with ... how do you know it will? And now we go around in circles for hours.[/p]
im not trying to have an argument, just my opinion. I just think it would be good to put a full team out and to beat them on the last day of the season as they did when they got us relegated and then use the youngsters pre season, like i said my opinion you dont have to agree.[/p]
I can certainly get behind a little last-day belated revenge over Man Utd.[/p]
and when 3-0 with 15 minutes to go bring on the kids[/p]
Or at 3-0 with 15 minutes gone![/p]
that will do Andover Saint

I think it should be a game of two halves.

First half, (with Nat, Luke, Jack Stephens, Jack, JWP, Adam and Rickie) play a more or less full-strength 11 (containing a mere 7 English outfield players - I don't think there's much we can do about the goalkeeping spot, Kelv's injured), get 5-0 up, then rest the 3 foreigners (Steve D., Morgan and Victor) and replace them with Omar Rowe, Harrison Reed and Sam ...... and win 10-0.

Of course, that would simply throw speculation around about the futures of Callum, Dejan and Jose, but it would, at least, give stories about Adam, Jay, Morgan and MP a rest.
cant we put the septic in goal? they used to part of our country anyway so doesn't that count?
