ODIHAM and Greywell won the opening Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup tie of the season as they beat AWE Tadley by seven wickets at May’s Bounty on Tuesday night.
In a 16 overs a side game, AWE Tadley batted first and Mike Burt (33) top scored in their total of 76-9 with Adi Green (3-15) and Phil Thomas (3-22) the pick of the bowlers.
Odiham reached their winning score of 80-3 in the 11th over thanks to Thomas Bowden (30) and Rob Walsh-Smith (26).
The next round one tie is on Monday, when Old Basing face Sherfield-on-Loddon at May’s Bounty. The following evening, Stratfield Turgis take on Rotherwick ITW.
