BLUEWAVE Korean Martial Arts, the Basingstoke part of what was formerly Overton and Basingstoke Taekwondo, took part in the annual championships of Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain.

In total, 16 competitors took part in both poomsae and kyrougi, winning 13 medals.

There were six golds as Amy Stock and Neo Botha won in both disciplines, while Alex Stock and Kamil Nowak were successful in kyrougi.

There were silvers in kyrougi for Cullen Walker, Mujahid Baksh and Kasper Nowak and bronzes for Rachel Harman and Coleen Reilly in poomsae and Callum Walker and Sean Carstens in kyrougi.

This certainly shows how much the students and the club have developed in the past 12 months.

A special mention should go to peewee competitors Walker, Nowak and Carstens, who all had several matches to achieve their medals.

As well as competing in the poomsae, Sian Reilly and Bradley Welsman spent the day as class three officials.

Welsman also completed the practical aspect of the class three referee course and that means that Bluewave now has three British Taekwondo-qualified class three officials.
