BENGAL Brasserie suffered final heartbreak in the Hampshire Junior B Cup, losing 4-1 to Bembridge at AFC Portchester on Saturday.
The Basingstoke and District Saturday League outfit took the lead on 13 minutes, Kye Buckland latching on to Adam Hooper’s pass before sliding the ball under the Bembridge goalkeeper.
However, Hooper then conceded a penalty and while Dean Elesgood managed to save the spot-kick, he was unable to keep out the rebound.
Tom Langley hit the post for Bengal, while Buckland also went close before the break, but Bembridge went ahead five minutes into the second period. They extended their advantage with 20 minutes to go and made the game safe in the closing stages.
