REPORT - Doncaster 1 Reading 3
READING’S Championship play-off hopes are now in their own hands after an excellent 3-1 victory at Doncaster.
The win in Yorkshire moved the Royals up to fifth and a victory in their final game of the season against visiting Burnley on Saturday would guarantee them a play-off place.
However, Reading did not have it all their own way at Doncaster, as James Coppinger gave the home side the lead after 25 minutes.
Only a good save from Royals’ Alex McCarthy denied Billy Sharp, a second for the Yorkshire side before the break.
Reading equalised just after the hour mark, when Adam Le Fondre was tripped by Paul Quinn in the area and converted the spot kick.
The Royals took all three points, thanks to a brace from Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak in the final four minutes.
Reading manager Nigel Adkins said: "We weren't at our best in the first half, but we had words during the interval and the response from the players was fantastic.
"We've got Burnley at home in the last game and that won't be easy but I'm expecting a full house and we will be going all out to win the game.”
