BASINGSTOKE and Mid Hants Athletic Club got their Southern Athletics League Division One campaign off to a slow start, finishing third out of four teams at the opening round in Bromley.
Dean Showler-Davis had a good day, winning the 100m and 200m, while other A string winners were Stuart Parker (triple jump), Lucy Wildash (1,500m), Gemma Wildash (1,500m steeplechase), Jenny Helyar (javelin) and the men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams.
Myles Richardson emulated Showler-Davis by winning the B string 100m and 200m, while Rebecca Sleap completed club doubles by winning the B 1,500m and 1,500m steeplechase. Other B string winners were Geoff Butler (110m hurdles) and Jonty Davison (pole vault).
