NEW Inn returned to the top of the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division table with a 2-0 victory over title rivals Basingstoke Royals.

Lee Chambers opened the scoring after five minutes and Richard Kalwarszck got the second before half-time. Welly Old Boys are the only side who can prevent New Inn winning the title and the teams play each other later this month.

Hook's title challenge is over following a 2-0 defeat at home to Sherborne St John. Alex Izzo got the first on 55 minutes, with Ibrahim Waheed making the game safe two minutes from time.

Tadley Calleva A beat a 10-man Pure Spartan side 18-2 to keep their hopes of winning the Division One title alive.

A hat-trick from Kyle Theodore and Stephen Burgess' brace had Tadley 5-0 up at half-time, but they ran riot after the break, adding a further 13 goals.

Theodore ended the game having netted nine times, while Burgess got a double hat-trick and Jack Nisbet and Gary Harper also got on the scoresheet.

Skewers top the table after beating former leaders Overton United A 3-0, but Tadley will be champions if they win their last three games. Sam Cato scored twice in the win over Overton, with Mark Doran getting the third.

Bramley United are in the midst of a busy spell. They beat Chineham Albion 4-1 last Monday, but lost 3-2 to Welly Old Boys Reserves on Wednesday.

Then, on Saturday, they bounced back with a 5-0 win over Herriard Sports. Harry Elliott and Lewis Holloway had them two up at half-time, with Stefan Mark, Holloway's second and Phil Mark completing the scoring.
