Saints have several injury problems ahead of tomorrow’s game with Cardiff.

Jay Rodriguez, Gaston Ramirez and Kelvin Davis are definite absentees while Artur Boruc will be assessed to see whether he can take part.

The Polish stopper was forced out of the game against Manchester City with a back injury and was replaced between the sticks by Paulo Gazzaniga with American youngster Cody Cropper on the bench.

“The cases of Gaston Ramirez, Artur Boruc, Jay Rodriguez, which we all know about, and Kelvin Davis as well,” reported Mauricio Pochettino.

“We have one more training session to go and once that has happened we will know what players we have.”

Pochettino has also warned his side will face a tough test from the Bluebirds, despite their lowly position in the league.

“I think we are going to have to work our socks off and suffer against Cardiff,” he said.

“We are playing a team that is playing for survival in the Premier League.

“We are also going through different circumstances at this point in the league.

“We have a short squad and we have suffered injuries such as Jay Rodriguez which are tough to take.

“It is a very good chance for us to show our strength as a team but it will not be easy.

“We need to be better than Cardiff and it’s a very good chance to show our strength.”
