SPORTING Silchester’s first season in Basingstoke and District Sunday League One could yet end with them winning the title after they beat Basingstoke Sports and Social 4-1 to make it seven wins on the spin.
Shaun Dallimore put Silchester ahead after 15 minutes and while David Judd levelled, Michael Collier had the visitors 2-1 up at half-time. Further goals from Dean Scott and Austin Kelly completed the scoring in the second half.
Tron remain top of the league after a 5-2 victory at Dayer’s Fine Foods. Lee Neal had Dayer’s ahead at the break but Samie Aldoori and Dave Parry had Tron 2-1 up in the second period. Neal’s second levelled the game but further strikes from Parry, Harry Palmer and Vinny Aldoori saw Tron home.
CI FC also won and sit second in the table. Keith Davies’ hat-trick was enough to see them beat Kaiser Wessex 3-1. Kaiser also lost in midweek, going down 2-1 to Dayer’s.
Basingstoke Saints beat Republic of Chineham 3-2. Liam James scored twice for Saints, with Ryan Sawyer getting their opener, while Matt Bennett netted twice for Chineham.
