The Bison reply in the best possible fashion with a fifth goal as Greener nets from close range as he puts away Wynn's rebound.
GOAL - Bison 4 Flames 2 - Branislav Kvetan (53:37)
Just five seconds into a Kurt Reynolds penalty and Kvetan fires past Skinns to give his side some hope, but they still need two goals to take the game into overtime.
The Bison still looking good as Sheppard goes close.
The Herd are given another powerplay as Lundin departs for slashing, but Flames kill the penalty and the game enters the final 10 minutes.
Karpov looks to extend the Bison lead further, but Rockman makes the save.
Kohut goes close for the Flames, but Bison are looking comfortable at the moment.
Not the start Guildford were looking for as Kohut takes a penalty and Long so nearly makes it 5-1, but the Flames kill off the penalty.

A super second session saw the Herd take a three goal advantage to the dressing room. The five-on-three penalty kill was also a big point in the period.
The Bison have one skate in the final, but the don't rule the Flames out just yet.
A great penalty kill from the Bison and the Flames should have made more it.
Great chance for the Flames now as Vantroba joins Baird in the bin to give them over a minute of a five-on-three penalty. Hopefull a big penalty kill coming up.
Guildford trying to get back into the game, but the Herd still look strong.
The Flames are given a lifeline as the Bison get caught for too many men on the ice, but the Herd kill off the penalty.

Rand adds a fourth goal for the Bison and it is no surprise the Flames call a time-out.
The Bison are given a chance to extend their lead on a powerplay, but Kristoffersson goes close to netting his second of the game.

Super Slovak Vantroba nets through the legs of Rockman to give the Herd a two-goal cushion.

Captain Nicky Chinn leads by example as fires past Rockman to put the Herd ahead again.

So with 20 minutes gone there is still nothing to split the sides. At the moment this looks like the way this game is set to go.
Another former Bison player Skene goes to the sin bin, but the Flames penalty kill does its job.

Flames level things as Kristoffersson again, proves what a lethal finisher he is, and puts away Lundin's rebound.

The Bison's leading goal scorer Karpov nets from close range just as a Guildford powerplay on Martin Opatovsky is about to expire. So a powerplay strike to open the scoring that will do nicely.
Both sides still looking for the opening goal, but very tight encounter as expected.
The Flames get their chance on the powerplay as Connolly goes to the sin bin. The Herd kill off the penalty and Greener forces Rockman into a save shorthanded.
Even opening to the game which is what you would expect from these teams.
Bison are given the first powerplay of the night as former Herd man Andrew Hemmings departs for boarding after 18 seconds.
The Herd have some good pressure, but fail to score.

The first semi-final went to overtime and I expect this game to be just as close.
Team news: Bison are the same as last week so they are just minus the injured Michael Wales.
For the Flames they have decided to go with an import quartet of forwards Martin Opatovsky, Marcus Kristoffersson, Jozef Kohut and defenceman Brantislav Kvetan.
They also look set to give Gregg Rockman a start in goal and this will be his first start for Guildford against the Bison this season.
