TADLEY Calleva will face New Inn in the final of the Basingstoke A Cup at Winklebury on Saturday (kick-off 6.30pm) after both sides won their semi-finals last weekend.

New Inn will start as favourites having already won the North Hants Intermediate Cup this season and have suffered only one defeat in the Basingstoke and District Premier Division.

However, they left it late to beat visiting Hook after the visitors had the better chances thanks to Jon Noakes and Tom Davies.

The winner came after 88 minutes, as Richard Kalwarczyk 25-yard shot hit the back of the net.

Manager Bradley Nash’s Division One underdogs Tadley booked their place in the final with a 3-2 victory over Sherborne St John at Barlow’s Park.

The home side’s red hot marksman Kyle Theodore gave Tadley a two goal lead after 24 minutes, thanks to two Stephen Burgess assists.

Sherborne started their comeback on 54 minutes, when Ibraham Waheed headed home a Dan Hamlin cross and two minutes later Waheed made it 2-2.

Tadley got the winner six minutes later thanks to Burgess’ spectacular overhead kick.
