TADLEY Calleva went goal crazy against Hayling United, as they hammered the south coast side 9-1 in the Wessex League Division One.

The home side were only led 3-0 at half-time and opened the scoring after 25 minutes, as Brett Denham’s cross was put away by Toluwanini Sotonye.

The Tadley front two of Denham and Sotonye caused all sorts of problems for Hayling, and they soon added a second goal, as Denham rounded the visitors’ goalkeeper.

Then Shaun Dallimore marked his return from suspension, with a lovely volley to make it three at the break.

After the interval, Hayling pulled a goal back, but from the then on it was all Tadley as they scored five goals in a 15 minute spell.

James Milford got the first as he netted Denham’s rebound and then Sotonye added number five as he rounded the goalkeeper.

He then turned provider for Denham to make it 6-1 and a cross from Milford saw James Tennant took the tally to seven.

Sotonye completed the first hat-trick of the game with their eighth goal and then combined with his brother Tammy Sotonye as Denham netted his third of the game.

The victory means Tadley now have a record of seven wins, two draws and one loss in their last 10 games and they closing in on a top-six finish.

Tadley manager Danny Dolan was delighted and said: “I have been saying for whole we ere due to give someone a thrashing.”

Another pleasing aspect of the game for the boss, was that his central midfield pairing had a combined age of 36, thanks to Henry Johnson (20) and Adam Allison (16) played in the centre of the park.

On Thursday night, Tadley entertain Overton in the quarter-finals of the Basingstoke Senior Cup and then on Saturday have a tough trip in the league to New Milton.
