JUSTIN Rose missed the cut for the first time in 2014, when he failed to make the final two rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida.

The north Hampshire golfer shot a one under par 71 on the first day of the event, which included four birdies and three bogeys.

The following day it all went wrong for Rose as he fired a 79, as he suffered six bogeys and two double bogeys on holes eight and 13.

His 150 for the two rounds saw him miss the cut by four shots.

The tournament was eventually won by American Matt Every, which was his first PGA title.

Despite the result, Rose is still ranked sixth in the official golf world rankings.
