HARTLEY Wintney FC bounced back from a 2-0 defeat at home to Molesey with an excellent 4-2 victory away at Westfield in the Combined Counties League Premier Division on Saturday.
Ben Dillon’s men were in charge of their game against Molesey on Thursday, but a defensive error gifted the visitors the opening goal.
A foul on Ryan Stephens by the last defender saw Molesey reduced to 10 men but Hartley could not take advantage and conceded a late second when the visitors hit them on the counter-attack.
However, it was a different story at Westfield two days later.
The hosts opened the scoring early on but Sam Argent levelled before half-time and Ryan Stephens’ deflected shot had Hartley in front after the break.
Westfield pulled level following a defensive lapse but Ian Jones restored the visitors’ lead and substitute Nick Kingston made the game safe late on.
Hartley, who sit 10th in the table, face a trip to fourth-placed Windsor tomorrow night.
