YOUNG Totally Tennis Mini Performance player Theo Harrison has had a great start to 2014, winning his first two tournaments.
After victory in the eight and under boys championship at the Heston Masters Indoor event, he was eight and under mixed winner at the Alverstoke Mini Red tournament.
In Harrison’s first success – played at the David Lloyd Club Heston in Hounslow. – the Totally Tennis player won five matches to secure the top honours in the Grade Six tournament.
He beat Nicholas Rashkov (10-5), Noah Peterson (10-4), Toby Wheeler (10-6), Sujin Karunakaran (10-1) and Simon Ormond (10-3).
In the Grade Five event at the Alverstoke Lawn Tennis, Squash and Badminton Club, Harrison competed alongside clubmate Eduard Lakatos, who trains in the Mini Performance squad at Hampshire Court.
Harrison won an impressive seven matches this time, to take the title as he beat Michael Aaron Smith (12-10), Lewin Myles (10-3), William Harrison (10-2), Hannah Buzzard (10-7), Lily Bebbington (10-3), Frederick Fairhall (10-7) and Lakatos (11-9). Lakatos won four of his seven matches beating Buzzard (15-13), Bebbington (10-5), Myles (10-4) and William Harrison (10-2).
