- The Jets score the first goal of final period from Tvrdek, before their other import forward Ales Padelek is dismissed. The Bison wrap up the win thanks to Connolly with a powerplay goal.
Reaction Basingstoke Bison player/coach Doug Sheppard said: "We wanted a four point weekend and did this. We knew it was going to be harder tonight in Slough, but we got the two points we wanted.
"Now we can focus and look forward to the cup final first leg."

The Bison make it six wins on the trot which is their best winning run of the season and keeps them top of the league.
Hitting form at just the right time ahead of Wednesday's first leg of the EPL Cup final at Coventry against MK.

A powerplay goal at last as Connolly scores from close range.
Jets hopes of a comeback are dealt a bitter blow as their leading scorer Padelek is dismissed for high sticks on Ciaran Long which leaves blood on the ice.
This gives the Bison a five minute powerplay with six minutes left, but they will be without one of the top men of their PP unit.
Another big penalty kill from the Bison as Skinns does well to keep Kieras out again.

Tvrdek converts a pass from Jamie Line and the Jets are right back in this game with 10 minutes left.
Another Bison powerplay and the story of this evening no goal. Hopefully they are saving them for Wednesday night against MK.
The Bison kill an early penalty on Wales, which is a good start to the period.
The third period is underway and the Bison have to win the game to stay top as Manchester have already won tonight.

The Bison's pressure finally told and they deserve their lead. However, they cannot afford to sit back as Slough are far from out of this game. It just remains to see if the Jets have the legs to keep going in the final 20 minutes. The first goal of the third period could well prove vital to the outcome of this game.

Suddenly the goals are coming thick and fast as 14 seconds later a great wrist shot from Sheppard restores the Bison's two goal lead.

Tvrdek opens the Slough account with a nice finish to get the home side back in the game.
Jets kill another penalty. I guess it is not to be the Bison's night on the powerplay -sometimes this happens.

It is not third time lucky for the Bison as the Jets are able to kill another penalty. They are having the chances just not finding the net.
Joe Greener forces a save from the Slough goalie as the Herd are still looking to open their account for this evening.
Another penalty is killed off by the Jets as the home defence stand tall.

Honours even so far between these sides. It remains to see if the short staffed Jets can keep this going for two more periods. Last week of course Slough won at home 2-1 after a shoot-out over Guildford. So they will be pleased with the scoreline more than the visitors.
Jets kill their first penalty as unlike last night the Bison are unable to score on their first powerplay of the evening, but Melachrino goes close.
Bison run into penalty trouble with Rand and then Reynolds in sin bin. A big penalty kill from the Herd to see off the 5-on-3 as Kieras tests Skinns with his blue line blasts.
Four-on-four hockey gives both teams more space and Karpov is denied for the Bison.

Even start to the game and on the smaller ice pad tonight, players have a lot less time on the puck.
Game underway Dean Skinns is in goal for the Bison and Vasiljevic guards the pipes for the Jets.
Last night the Bison won the home game of this mini series 6-2 with the big goals being Ciaran Long's penalty shot strike to make it 2-1 and Joe Rand's goal early in the third period.
At the end of the night the shot count was 66-18 and if it was not for Andrej Vasiljevic the score would have been a lot higher. Bison fans will hope he is in for another busy night this evening.
Last night's victory kept the Bison top of the EPL with Manchester equal on points with them after their 5-1 win at Bracknell, their first of the season at the Hive. Tonight, Manchester face a home game against the Swindon Wildcats.
