MATCHDAY LIVE - Basingstoke Town 2-2 Maidenhead United
This live event has finished
- FULL-TIME - Basingstoke Town 2-2 Maidenhead United
- Town blow two-goal lead against Conference South strugglers.
- Hosts remain 10th in Conference South, eight points off the play-off places.
- Jordace Holder-Spooner gives Town the advantage on 11 minutes.
- Andrew Jenkinson doubles the lead early in the second half but Harry Pritchard soon gets Maidenhead back into the game.
- Jacob Erskine completes the comeback 12 minutes from time.
That's all for today. Join me again on Tuesday, when Town travel to Gosport Borough for a Hampshire Senior Cup semi-final.
Live coverage of Southampton v Liverpool is about to begin elsewhere on the site, with the Basingstoke Bison's home game against the Slough Jets also being covered live.
After today's results, Town remain 10th in the table, but they have actually closed the gap on the play-off places to eight points.
Elsewhere, it's more bad news. Basingstoke RFC lost 24-14 at Hertford, London Irish went down 18-0 at Exeter Chiefs and Reading were held 1-1 by Yeovil, who ended the game with eight men.
A strange game. Town were not at their best today but should have won after going two goals ahead. Again they pay for failing to take their chances.
Another two points dropped and ground lost in the play-off race.
Reaction to follow.
Basingstoke Town 2-2 Maidenhead United
Pritchard's curling effort catches the head of David Ray and spins narrowly wide. Ray then makes an important header from the resulting corner.
That was a big chance. Matthews put Ibe in down the left. He chose to pass, finding Williams, who took too many touches and was crowded out.
We are into four minutes of added time.
A couple of half-chances for the hosts. Matthews and Barrett are just crowded out attempting to get on the end of Ibe's knock-down, while Barrett fires about a yard over from distance.
Basingstoke Town - Robbie Matthews on for Louie Soares (82)
Maidenhead United - Curtis Ujah on for Harry Grant (80)
Basingstoke Town 2-2 Maidenhead United - Jacob Erskine (78)
And that's us all squared up. Wells cannot hold Pritchard's shot from distance and JACOB ERSKINE is first to the loose ball, his scuffed finish wrong-footing the goalkeeper and finding the net.
Maidenhead United - Jonathan Hippolyte on for Bobby Behzadi (77)
Maidenhead win a dangerous free-kick and Danny Green's curling effort is not too far over. I think Wells had it covered though.
Good play from Erskine sets up a shooting chance for Pritchard on the edge of the area, but two good blocks stop him testing Wells.
Basingstoke Town - Kezie Ibe on for Jordace Holder-Spooner (71)
Danny Green's free-kick bounces just in front of Wells and hits him on the chest, with the rebound just evading a Maidenhead player.
Basingstoke Town - Neil Barrett on for Andrew Jenkinson (65)
Town look to steady the ship, with Dunn moving out to the left.
Decent chance on the break for Town, who have a four-on-three briefly, but Jenkinson and Holder-Spooner overplay and the opportunity is wasted.
Two massive saves from Louis Wells. First, the Town defence was caught lopsided and Danny Green found himself in space on the left side of the area, but Wells was equal to his well-struck effort.
Then, from the resulting corner, Matt Ruby's header has him in trouble, the 'keeper somehow pawing the ball away.
That's a great touch from Williams, who lifted the ball over his marker with a Gazza-esque touch, but fired his volley into the side netting.
The game is a bit scrappy at the moment, with both sides making mistakes in possession. Next goal will be crucial.
Maidenhead must have made a change that went unnoticed at the break, Jacob Erskine replacing Pacquette as the focal point of the attack.
Basingstoke Town 2-1 Maidenhead United - Harry Pritchard (53)
The visitors are back in it, and that goal had been coming. Wells had been forced into a hurried clearance and a save with his feet at the near post from Tyrell Miller-Rodney.
The goal arrived from a decent move down the right channel. The ball was pulled across and HARRY PRITCHARD was on hand to force it home from close range.
Basingstoke Town 2-0 Maidenhead United - Andrew Jenkinson (48)
Soares does well down the right and his cross is just taken away from Williams, but ANDREW JENKINSON gets up at the far post.
Putnins looks set to make the save but it's just too high for him and he is unable to push the ball over and it drops just over the line.
Jenkinson plays Holder-Spooner through but the striker had made his run too early and is caught offside.
Maidenhead get the second half under way. Wells will be looking into a low sun for the remaining 45 minutes.
The players are on their way back out for the second half.

Elsewhere this afternoon, Basingstoke RFC trail hosts Hertford 17-7 at half-time in their National Three London game.
More bad news for both Reading and London Irish. Reading trail Yeovil 1-0 in the Championship at the Madejski Stadium, while Irish are 6-0 down at Exeter Chiefs in rugby's Premiership.
The visitors may feel a little agrieved to be behind at the break. They started poorly and Town deserved to go ahead, but Maidenhead bossed the last 25 minutes of the half.
They only created one clear chance though, and Wells did brilliantly to deny Grant, who has been the game's most impressive player.
Basingstoke Town 1-0 Maidenhead United
Soares takes the kick himself but clears not only the wall, but the goal as well. Always rising.
Soares is brought down by Mark Nisbet and that's a dangerous free-kick, in a central area, just outside the box.
Jenkinson has the ball in the net, but the flag was up for offside early on.
Smart gets caught out by a bit of movement from Pritchard, who is in behind the defence, but his cross fails to pick out a team-mate. Town need half-time here.
Great pass from Gasson, who is sporting an impressive beard, to put Green away down the left, but his cross is too close to Putnins.
Town are struggling a bit at the moment. They can't keep hold of the ball.
The visitors win their first corner of the game and Town are relieved to see a dangerous ball in just elude everyone, with Wells caught in no-man's land.
The game has calmed down a bit, but Maidenhead are very much in it.
Well done Louis Wells. Nathan Smart was caught by Pacquette's flailing arm but the referee played on and Harry Grant was through down the left channel.
Goalkeeper Wells came out to meet him and had to get that challenge right, getting his fingers to the ball. Could have been a penalty and possibly a red card.
Maidenhead are coming into this a bit, buoyed by Town giving the ball away in bad areas on a couple of occasions. Pritchard has another go from distance and this time it's not too far wide at all.
A decent Maidenhead move is wasted as Harry Pritchard fires out of the ground. They had a good break going there.
A deep cross finds Holder-Spooner at the back post but he is unable to get enough purchase on his shot and it's easy for Putnins.
Maidenhead have looked rattled since going behind. Green and Jenkinson have bot fired off-target, while the visitors look terribly shaky at the back.
Basingstoke Town 1-0 Maidenhead United - Jordace Holder-Spooner (11)
A terrible goal to concede from a Maidenhead point of view. Solomon needlessly gave away a corner and Green's delivery found Jay Gasson.
His header towards goal lacked power but JORDACE HOLDER-SPOONER had the time and space to turn inside the six-yard box and fire into the roof of the net from close range.
That's his first league goal of the season.
Maidenhead left-back Leon Solomon gets forward well and let's fly from 25 yards but it's too close to Louis Wells.
Andrew Jenkinson, who has switched with Soares and is now on the right, cuts in on his left foot and gets a shot away, but it's easy for Elvijs Putnins in the Maidenhead goal.
A good ball from Wes Daly puts Manny Williams in down the left. He has support but fails to get the ball into the box and Maidenhead are able to block Adam Green's shot.
A big chance for Town in the first minute. A throw leads to Simon Dunn pulling the ball back for Louie Soares. He is unmarked on the edge of the area but can only fire a low shot wide.
Town get the game under way. They will shoot towards the Town End of the ground in the first half, down the slope.
Most of the pitch looks okay, but a couple of areas, most specifically near the edge of the pitch where the players come out, look decidedly muddy. Here come the players now.

This is the first time that Town have played at home since January 25. They only played twice in the whole of February. Now they face five games in the next 11 days.
It's March 1 and it seems that spring may actually have sprung. It's a lovely day out there and, for the first time this year, I'm not wearing a coat.
I'm also hoping that today may be the first time in 2014 that the floodlights are not needed for a game. A real annual highlight for me. Simple things.
Basingstoke Town: Wells, Smart, Green, Dunn, Gasson, Ray, Daly, Jenkinson, Holder-Spooner, Williams, Soares. Subs: Barrett, Rice, Ibe, Adams, Matthews.
Maidenhead United: Putnins, Behzadi, Solomon, Brown, Nisbet, Ruby, Green, Miller-Rodney, Pacquette, Grant, Pritchard. Subs: Hippolyte, Ujah, Azeez, Erskine, Nlate.
One change for Town. Adam Green returns after suspension and replaces Shaun McAuley, who has bruised ribs. Andrew Jenkinson moves into midfield, probably on the left wing.
Maidenhead have Richard Pacquette, who has been around this level for a while, in attack.
Good afternoon and welcome to live text coverage from the Camrose, where Basingstoke Town are hosting Maidenhead United.
