BASINGSTOKE Royals' hopes of winning the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division title remain on track after they beat bottom side Old Basing Rangers 2-0.

Scott Harvey put Royals ahead on 35 minutes and further chances were missed before Stephen Horton made sure of the points, heading home Tom Smith's cross with 20 minutes to play.

Herriard Sports picked up their first points of the season in Division One with a 3-0 win over Chineham Albion.

Stuart Minton opened the scoring after Herriard had made a good start, but Chineham saw a penalty hit the post before half-time. Finlay Thompson doubled the lead on 70 minutes, before Sam Weaver made the game safe for Sports.

Wayne Barlow's hat-trick had Overton United A 3-0 up before half-time in their game against Welly Old Boys Reserves. However, Welly came back to claim a point thanks to Stuart Murfitt and Brian Cook's brace.

Basingstoke Labour Club moved off the foot of the Division Two table with a 3-2 win over AFC Aldermaston A.

Kevin Flain put Aldermaston in front but young Jordon Medcraft's mazy run ended in an equaliser for Labour. Mike Hill put the strugglers ahead but Paul Mellor levelled for Aldermaston 10 minutes from time.

The game looked set to end 2-2 but Andrew Carr's deflected shot won the game for Labour in last minute.

Basingstoke Athletic enjoyed their best win of the season, beating AFC Berg 5-0.

James Launton opened the scoring and Ashley Russell netted twice to make it 3-0 at half-time. Nathan Read added a fourth after the break, while Launton's second of the match completed the scoring.

Bounty United are up to second after a 3-2 win over Overton United B.

Overton took an early lead through Darren White but Mike Gillham levelled, Andrew Darmondy put Bounty ahead and Mitchell Stokes made it 3-1 with half-an-hour gone. Overton got a second, Ryan Watts finding the net, but Bounty held on to win.
