THE rain may have finally ceased, but its legacy continues, with Hartley Wintney FC and Tadley Calleva having games called off due to waterlogged pitches over the weekend.

Hartley's home game against Molesey in the Combined Counties League Premier Division and Tadley's trip to Amesbury Town in Wessex League Division One both fell victim to the recent wet weather.

Hartley did manage to play a game last Thursday, recording an impressive 4-0 victory away at Croydon.

They had to start the game with 10 men due to traffic problems but were soon restored to a full complement as the first half ended goal-less.

Hartley took the lead after the break, when good play down the left from Adam Everiss and Jack Coventry resulted in player-manager Ben Dillon firing home from six yards.

They doubled the advantage midway through the second half, Sam Argent heading home Everiss' curling free-kick.

The visitors' third goal came from another free-kick, Jack Coventry curling a fantastic shot in off the underside of the crossbar, while Argent completed the scoring from the penalty spot.

The result means Hartley sit 13th in the table ahead of a home game against high-flying Camberley Town on Saturday. They were due to play Frimley Green tomorrow, but that match has been cancelled as the opposition have a cup game to play.

Tadley are also in action on Saturday, hosting Ringwood Town, while Whitchurch United, who were not in action at the weekend, host Kingsclere in the Andover Open Cup tomorrow night.
