BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies went down 2-0 away at local rivals Aldershot Town Ladies in the Southern League Premier Division on Sunday.
Town made a bright start, with Sian Wylie hitting the post after just 10 minutes and putting another chance wide soon after, but goals on 20 and 22 minutes put the hosts in charge.
Basingstoke goalkeeper Erin Davis pulled off two good saves to keep her side in the game at half-time and while Town pressed after the break, they were unable to get on the scoresheet. Josette Pearmine saw two shots flash wide, while Tracy Jones and Wylie were both denied by the Aldershot goalkeeper.
The ladies, who sit sixth in the table, travel to fourth-placed Maidenhead United on Sunday.
