REACTION: Bison player/coach Doug Sheppard said: "We were looking for four points this weekend, so we are disappointed to lose tonight.
"Now it is a matter of focussing on the next weekend which again is not going to be easy."
FINAL SCORE - Bees 4 Bison 2
It is the Bees who take the honours in the final league derby game of the season, but the Bison win the series 4-2. It is a shame the Herd missed out on a win as leaders Manchester were beaten 3-2 by Sheffield. So both the top two picked up two points this weekend so the table stays the same.
The Bison travel to Coventry on Saturday to face the Milton Keynes Lightning and then on Sunday they entertain the Slough Jets. We will have live updates from the Bison Jets game - so remember to log on,
GOAL - Bees 4 Bison 2 - Chris Wiggins (59:54)
Game over as Wiggins hits the empty net.
Skinns is pulled for the extra skater
The Bison pile on the pressure and then Long picks up a penalty which will give Bracknell a powerplay until 40 seconds from time. So the Skinns will not be pulled until at this so it is going to be tight if the Bison are going to tie the game.
Into the final five minutes Bison get a powerplay as Thompson goes to the sin bin and the Herd call a time-out, so hopefully this time it will mean a goal.
Greener goes close as the Bison look for a third goal.
GOAL - Bees 3 Bison 2 - Aaron Connolly (48:09)
Connolly hammers the puck home from a nice pass from Sheppard. To get the Herd right back in this contest, a grandstand final 10 minutes coming up.
GOAL - Bees 3 Bison 1 - Matt Foord (47:52)
Foord makes the most of good work from Spearing.
Shaun Thompson goes close to making it three for the Bees, but Skinns denies him.
More pressure from the Herd on a powerplay, but Mettam keeps them out again.
Karpov forces a save from Mettam as the Bison start their search for an equaliser. Plenty of time left.
Final 20 minutes underway and the lets hope the Bison can produce another comeback.
END OF THE SECOND PERIOD - Bees 2 Bison 1
The Bees edge the period, but the Herd have been here before and have posted some good third periods this season. Last Sunday in Sheffield being a fine example as they fought their way back to win.
Talking of Sheffield I am told they are beating league leaders Manchester 3-2 at the moment
GOAL - Bees 2 Bison 1 - Grant Rounding (35:43)
Rounding scores from close range as the Bees take the lead for the first. Rounding scored the winner in the penalty shoot-out earlier in the season. Lets hope this is not the game winner tonight.
After the exchange of goals, both sides looking for their second goal now and in this game this could end being the game winner.
The Bees have a chance to add to their tally, but the Bison kill a penalty on their captain Nicky Chinn.
GOAL - Bees 1 Bison 1 - Chris Wiggins (29:01)
Former Bison man Wiggins fires home on a delayed penalty on Wales.
GOAL - Bees 0 Bison 1 - Kurt Reynolds (26:02)
Reynolds breaks the deadlock with a strike from the blue line.
Ciaran Long lets a wrist shot go, but Mettam is equal to it.
Lukas Smital's nice shot from the wing is saved by Skinns as both teams look to break the deadlock.
The puck is dropped and the second period is underway.
END OF THE FIRST PERIOD - Bees 0 Bison 0
So all square after the opening 20 minutes, so it is all still to play for in this local derby.
Bracknell's Mettam takes his weekend shut-out record to four periods. Lets hope that is where it ends please.
The Bison have another powerplay after former Bison player Wiggins gets called for charging. However, the Herd have some good pressure, but are unable to make it count.
Bees import defenceman Jan Bendik leaves the ice after being hit in the face by the puck. This is never nice to see hope it is not too bad.
Joe Rand tests Mettam, but the Bees goalie looks in good form.
The Herd get their first powerplay of the night as former Bison Oakford departs, but they are not able to find a goal, but I am sure they wil next time.
Bison killed the first penalty of the night on Joe Greener as Shaun Thompson is denied by Skinns.
Karpov goes close for the Bison as they search for the opening goal.
Even start to the contest with both sides having chances.
Game underway with Dean Skinns in goal for the Bison and last night's shut-out hero Alex Mettam guards the pipes for the Bees.
Team news Bison are minus British forwards Andy Melachrino and Cameron Wynn.
For the Bees they are without Rob Lamey and Bison legend Tony Redmond. Brendan Baird is added to the line-up and so will ice against his older brother Joe.
This is the last league meeting between these arch rivals and the Bees have only won one of the last five meetings. However, being a local derby anything can happen especially with the likes of feisty trio James Galazzi, Scott Spearing and Chris Wiggins in the Bracknell line-up.
These teams could still meet in the play-offs, so both will be keen to put down a marker for the post season.
Both teams won last night, the Bison beat the Swindon Wildcats 3-2 on home ice and the Bees won at the Hangar 4-0 over the Slough Jets.
Good evening to tonight's local derby game clash between the Bracknell Bees v Basingstoke Bison.
