Danny Briggs has been dumped from England's World Twenty20 squad.

The Hampshire slow left-armer has paid the price for last week's performance against Australia in Hobart, where he conceded 53 from his four overs.

Kent off-spinner James Tredwell and uncapped Lancashire slow left-armer Stephen Parry are in the 15-man squad instead. Joe Root and Moeen Ali also provide off-spin options.

Hampshire's dynamic opening batsmen, Michael Carberry and James Vince, missed the cut after being included in the provisional 30-man squad announced three weeks ago.

Carberry has also been left out of the ODI squad that plays the West Indies in the Caribbean later this month.
