Have to say it was a bit close for comfort at the end. Never been happier to see an empty net goal.

After the centre face-off the Flames goalie is pulled again and this time the Bison find the empty net with a shot from his own zone from Reynolds.

GOAL - Flames 5 Bison 2 - Branislav Kvetan (58:23)

Even without Kristoffersson the Flames score on the powerplay as Kvetan produces a clinical finish and now overall the lead is two goals.

10:02pm

Kristoffersson is denied by Skinns as Guildford keep searching for another goal.

No goal on the powerplay, but the Herd just need to see this game out now and they looked in good shape to do it.

Now the Bison have a chance to run some more time off the clock with their own powerplay as Kvetan departs for slashing with eight minutes left.

9:53pm

More nervous moments as the Flames are given a powerplay as Baird goes to the sin nin. However, the Herd D stand tall and the Flames fail to score, but they are in charge now.

END OF THE SECOND PERIOD - Flames 2 Bison 2 (agg Flames 5 Bison 10)

The Herd are just 20 minutes away from another cup final. Guildford will have to have a stunning final period if the holders for the past two years are to keep hold of their trophy. A solid road game from the Bison just need to finish the job off now.

9:20pm

The very dangerous Kristoffersson goes close for the Flames.

Another good Bison powerplay, but Hadfield makes the saves, the best being to deny Karpov a second goal of the evening.

Bison hit straight back again to tie the game on the night, as leading scorer Karpov turns on his magic to score from close range.

The three Guildford imports combine as Melicherik and Kristoffersson set-up the defenceman Kvetan to score from the slot.
