AFTER another frustrating postponement last Saturday, we were back in action on Monday, travelling to Boreham Wood.

Once again, it was a fixture where we feel we deserved more than the point we got. After conceding a goal after only a few seconds, the players responded very well and dominated the first half.

We need to take our chances when we have good spells in games or it lets the opposition believe they always have a chance, which obviously they do.

This week we travel to Hayes and Yeading. They have had a lot of changes in playing personnel over the last couple of months but will be looking to put a few disappointing results behind them and push on again.

It will be a very difficult game, as they all are. I’m sure the pitch will be very heavy with all of the rain we have had, while the fact that they share a ground with Woking won’t help much.

The Academy played a couple of friendly games last Thursday, a double header against Steve Laider’s Pulse Academy.

There were some very promising performances and some pleasing development from individuals. There were some cracking goals scored in 4-0 and 6-1 wins for our youngsters.

I would like to congratulate Havant and Waterlooville and Gosport on reaching the semi-finals of the FA Trophy.

They now face each other later this month in a two-legged semi-final to see which one will represent both the Conference South and Hampshire in the final at Wembley next month.

Regards,

Jason
